Pro Staff is looking for CNC Machinists to work at a Plastics Manufacturing company in North Houston. These are temp to hire positions with competitive pay and opportunity for permanent employment. Duties include:
Studies blueprints, sketches, drawings, manuals, specifications, or sample part to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished workpiece, sequence of operations, and setup requirements.
Equipment to be oiled and cleaned before, during and after it has been used.
Measures, marks, and scribes dimensions and reference points on material or work piece as guides for subsequent machining. Measure calculation of number of parts per billet and number of parts per cycle.
Selects, aligns, and secures holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials on machines such as mills, lathes, jig borers, grinders, and shapers.
Starts and observes machine operation to detect malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining, and adjusts machine controls or control media as required.
Verifies conformance of finished work piece to specifications by using PI tape, dial calipers and optical comparators.
Sets up and operates machine on trial run to verify accuracy of machine settings or programmed control data. Sign off and have supervisor or co-machinist sign off on all set up parts to verify and approve prior to running production.
Confer with supervisor or lead person to resolve machining problems.
Work in a safe manner and maintain sound housekeeping practices.

Able to read blueprints
Good math and measurement skills
